In Gr. 9 I was first exposed to non profits through the Because I am a Girl initiative by Plan Canada. We were able to learn a lot more about the inequality facing women around the world and the news really did break my heart. As time went on, the club disbanded from my school but I still heard a lot about the amazing work Plan does around the world! With the mosquito nets as well as the Top 20 Under 20 Award that they presented too!
